Virginia Beach is the largest Beach in the world, and ranks as the 41st city in the United States, and is located on the Chesapeake Bay and the Atlantic Ocean. It has a beach running into several miles, protected beach areas, and is home to three US military bases, and also to multinational corporations.
In history it is known that this was the entry point for one of the British explorers who came in search of “India” but reached the American shores instead. Earlier inhabited by Indians, a trading post was set up here somewhere in the early 1600s. There are a variety of other entertainments available other than those connected with the beach. These include Museums, drives around the countryside, etc.
Norfolk International Airport connects visitors to Virginia Beach, with more than 200 flights to Virginia Beach. From the Norfolk International, getting to the beach is a 20 minute ride.
