Puerto Rico is an island between the Caribbean Sea and the North Atlantic Ocean. It is governed by a local government, but is affiliated to North America, and all laws of America apply here.
As in any island location, that too closer to the Equator, the weather is a temperate one with high humidity. Its total area is just 3,508 sq miles or 9,104 square kilometers.
The main language is Spanish, but English is also spoken with a Spanish accent. The main features are as with islands, is the relative different culture from the rest of America, and the exotic nature of the Caribbean belt, including the calypso, its own music, folk dance and folklore. Please do note that visas are necessary for non US citizens. And it can be had from the American Embassies the world over.
Getting to Puerto Rico can be by air or sea.
The chances of getting a very cheap airline ticket is to travel during the off season, that is from May and November. However this is also the hurricane season. |
